Hi Trek tvFriends, Well, it’s gonna be font on screen from me for the foreseeable future. My relic of a Mac groaned throughout the production of my last mp3mail and I can’t presently afford a new computer. Not one which can handle the abuse imposed by my loud audio productions. I have a little Chrome Book but how is cowers under my imposition. The poor thing just doesn’t support the sort of sound recording and mixing software that I require. Maybe someone else can fill the niche, come back Data Logan. Here’s the main topic of this email. Some time back Vaughn mentioned that 'Vaughn' is his middle name. What are the chances? 'Marc' is actually my middle name. I’m a middle name guy too. Wow. Mister Locke's middle name starts with ‘T’. I don’t know what the ‘T’ stands for and do, therefore, assume that the ‘T’ stands for ‘Tiberius’. The end. Now just imagine that I read that to you screaming with reverb into the pitch adjustment dial and that I then surrounded the recorded noise with honking tubas and a baroque minuet MIDI file processed through a bleating goat emulator. Also? Measure of Man. Some fine Asimov grade sci fi there. Notice how much friendlier TNG is to computer technology than ever was TOS. Kirk's crew was foreever at odds with machine life which sought to embiggen it's franchise. By the 1980's however, popular culture was beginning a more familiar relationship with computers and Star Trek wasn't as afraid of them anymore. Marc
