Sampling Episode 117

Hi Trek TV Friends, Once again, I'm taking the opportunity to use my failure to provide a written transcript (of the embedded mp3) to covertly insert a second email. You see, I wanted to say something about The Neutral Zone but I don't want to make my audio contribution too long so I'm using this space to say something about that. It's not much, I don't really have much to say, or write rather.
Here it is. I loved The Neutral Zone when it first aired. I can see now that it's not very good but back then, I loved it. Here's why.
The trope. That's right, it's always about the tropes with me, I like the sleeper ship trope. It's a way Sci Fi fave with me, Asimov, Clarke, Hal Clement...they all used it at one time or another. Star Trek has used it before too, in Space Seed which lead to Wrath of Khan. I think the trope is more richly explored here. That's the part of my statement that everyone disagrees with. Also, it was good to have Todd back especially since this episode is so very much like Futurama. Interesting that talk of 'the sleeper' should return during a discussion of 'sleeper ships'. I hope you enjoy the audio part of this content. Marc
