Theme Song Blues
From: Marc Thomas
Hi Trek TV Friends Wow Tracy! Thanks for the awesome story of your archeology career that somehow turned into a harrowing tale of prehensile vagina enabled mountaineering. I was hoping to elicit exactly the sort of zany anecdotes you let rip. You're such an action figure, I would totally wanna grow up to be just like you if it wasn't way too late. I really hope someone takes you (now the royal you, the institution of Trek TV itself) up on the invitation to provide a theme song. Mr. Locke absolutely despises mine, his critique cruel and pointedly lacking in kind hearted qualified asides designed to spare my feelings and I gotta say I agree that we need to go a different direction here but he refuses to provide his own alternative. Personally I would love the hear a banjo and guitar duet from Tracy and Jared. Ideally each show would begin with those two playing live accompanied by Vaughn on a washtub bass. Those who'd miss my midi keyboard party could always download a version that was composed a while back as an incidental score for my mp3mails to the podcast from goodwood.com's soundtrack page where it devolves into this……It's called Fan Fare. I really am so happy to have had my time as the TTV TOS tune provider. That old one was drawn from the Gerald Fried music for Amok Time which is so dear to me but the new Trek TV theme needs to come from someone who has a strong visceral response to the Goldsmith score, or perhaps some one who is an actual musician. I do have a strong visceral response, and in a nice way to Jerry Goldsmiths 1968 Planet of The Apes instrumentations but it would not be appropriate to channel that here. Be assured, I am eager to cede the intro outo spot at this point and will in no way be bummed or offended when some promising up and comer is so honored. As the oft re-tweeted Trekbogle says "Live Long and Prosper, ask me how?" Make a new Trek TV theme, thats howIt worked for me. I am frankly embarrassed by the gluttony and privalidge at my disposal scince becomeing a Trek TV theme composer. Won't you share my shame and dump a load behind that treble clef. Interesting thing, I guess my taste in music does run a bit scary, I dig things like Skinny Puppy, Dimmu Borgir and Ke$ha but I sure don't like horror or torture porn in my fiction. Unless it's in one of those emails Alan Speaker used to send us. I really miss those. I think I'll hold off on my "Where No One has Gone Before" two cents worth because it seems you may be covering the new JJ movie before then. You are seeing it now as I speak. I wonder if we're supposed to have read a bunch of those preliminary comic books before the 17th. Hope not. Has everyone seen the Shatner v Gorn and Nimoy v Quinto TV commercials. I thought those were perty fun. Oh one more quick plug for Salty's at Goodwoodbo.com. Don't miss Fizix Phax with Dr Fritz under the Essays tab. Hear Dr Fritz try gamely but utterly fail to explain science to Mr Locke and me. You might learn something, but probably not. Maybe Trek TV would have better luck with their physicist friend.
